Digital Millennium Copyright Act compliance — how we handle copyright takedown requests

SlideShare Downloader respects the intellectual property rights of content creators and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA") and applicable international copyright law, we respond promptly and in good faith to valid notices of copyright infringement.

How Our Service Works

SlideShare Downloader provides a tool that allows users to download presentations that are publicly accessible on SlideShare.net — meaning any visitor can view them without logging in or paying. We do not host, store, modify, or serve the underlying content. Our tool simply provides a means to save publicly viewable presentations to a local device.

We are not affiliated with LinkedIn Corporation or SlideShare. If you are the copyright owner and want to restrict access to your presentation, the most effective immediate action is to set the presentation to "Private" or delete it on SlideShare.net directly.

Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that your copyrighted work is being made accessible through our Service in a way that constitutes infringement, please send a written takedown notice to our designated DMCA agent. To be valid under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Physical or electronic signature of a person authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g. a link to the original work or a description)
  3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material — specifically, the SlideShare URL(s) being accessed through our tool, with enough detail for us to locate it
  4. Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
  5. A statement of good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement of accuracy, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf

Incomplete notices that do not include all required elements listed above will not be processed. We will acknowledge receipt of valid notices within 2 business days.

Important: Content We Cannot Remove

Because we do not host any presentation content, we are unable to "remove" a file from our servers. Our tool accesses content directly from SlideShare's servers in real-time. The most effective and permanent solution for copyright owners is to:

  • Set your SlideShare presentation to Private — this immediately prevents any third-party tool from accessing it
  • Delete the presentation from SlideShare.net
  • Contact LinkedIn/SlideShare directly via their own DMCA process at LinkedIn's Copyright Policy

We will, however, blacklist specific SlideShare URLs from being processed by our tool upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, and we will take appropriate action against users who repeatedly misuse our Service to infringe copyright.

Counter-Notification Procedure

If you believe your content was wrongly identified in a takedown notice, you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the material that was the subject of the takedown notice and its location before action was taken
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and applicable law, we maintain a policy of terminating access to the Service for users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers. We take copyright seriously and do not tolerate misuse of our tool.
